What will happen to car registration numbers in 2010?

From September 2001 registration plates have been displayed as two letters and two numbers. Between Sept 2001 and Sept 2009 if the first number was a ‘0’ then the car was registered in the first half of the year, if the first number was a ‘5’ then the car was registered in the second half of the year. The second number indicated the year of registration, so CV56 would indicate that the car was registered during the later part of 2006....
